Carcassonne is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of France’s top tourist destinations with over 4 million visitors each year. The town is very fortunate in having excellent travel  connections, with a main railway station and two access points to the A61- E80 motorway (Junctions 23 and 24). Carcassonne airport is 10 minutes from the town centre and has regular direct flights to England, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium and Portugal (new routes planned for 2012 to Denmark, Hungary, Spain, Germany and Paris). Additionally, Toulouse , Beziers and Perpignan Airports are just over an hour away.

The Mediterranean beaches are 30 – 45 minutes away and the Spanish border one and a half hours. You can be in Barcelona in less than 3 hours. Ski slopes are just over an hour away.
